The purpose of this essay is to reflect upon your experiences and progress (as well as obstacles and future needs) as a writer--based on your experience in ENGL201.

You will use specific examples from the work (reading, writing, discussing in discussion boards, researching, even emailing me) you did this semester and write a 3-5 page reflective essay.

This also gives you a chance to practice the self‐reflective portion that you will be required to complete for the junior writing portfolio (and other times in live). Bear in mind that the evaluation criteria for the junior writing portfolio consists of the following:
• Conception of assigned task, so that the reader can see how well you comprehend and make decisions about what you write.
• Focus on a main point, so that the reader can see a clear relationship between your main point and the topic.
• Organization of your ideas, so the reader can understand the flow of your development from beginning to middle to end.
• Support of your points, so the reader can see how your ideas and information are related to the topic, and is persuaded of the points you are developing.

• Proofreading of your written work, so that errors of grammar, usage, and diction do not seriously distract the reader.
